Can I pick up my coins at your office?

NGC returns submissions to NGC Collector members through the mail only. NGC Collector members are not able to pick up submissions at our office. NGC Authorized Dealers may pick up their coins at our office if they make an appointment. To schedule an appointment, contact NGC Customer Service at Service@NGCcoin.com or 800-NGC-COIN (642-2646).

For shipping costs, see "How much does return shipping cost?" below.

What service will NGC use to ship my coins back to me?

The default shipping method used by NGC is USPS Registered Mail.

For international shipments weighing more than four pounds, or for destinations not served by USPS Registered Mail, NGC will use either USPS Priority Mail or USPS Express Mail. All international packages are shipped by services that require a signature.

If you have a USPS Express Mail account, an account with carriers other than USPS (e.g,. FedEx or DHL), or high-value items that you would like returned by Malca-Amit or Brink's, contact NGC Customer Service at Service@NGCcoin.com or 800-NGC-COIN (642-2646) before submitting in order to make alternate return shipping arrangements. We must have this information on file prior to receiving your submission.

Can my coins be shipped by FedEx, UPS or another carrier?

If you have your own account with FedEx, UPS or another carrier other than USPS, please contact NGC Customer Service at Service@NGCcoin.com or 800-NGC-COIN (642-2646) before submitting so that we can place this information on file. We must have this information on file prior to receiving your submission.
If you do not have an account with any carriers, or if this information is not on file with NGC, your coins will be returned by USPS mail.

Does NGC insure domestic (US) return shipments?

Shipments to US addresses are shipped by NGC via USPS Registered Mail by default and insured according to the declared value provided by the submitter on the NGC Submission Form(s). See the Domestic USPS Registered Mail Shipping / Insurance Fee Matrix >
If you have private insurance, or if you would like to ship with a carrier other than USPS, please contact NGC Customer Service at Service@NGCcoin.com or 800-NGC-COIN (642-2646) before submitting so that we can place this information on file. We must have this information on file prior to receiving your submission.
In the rare event that a return shipment cannot be located, please contact NGC Customer Service at Service@NGCcoin.com or 800-NGC-COIN (642-2646). To make a claim, the USPS will require acceptable proof of value showing completion of payment such as a dated sales receipt, money order, credit card statement, copy of the front and back of a cancelled check or proof of completed internet payment transaction indicating actual amount paid.

Does NGC insure international return shipments?

No. Shipments to non-US address are not insured. NGC is not responsible for loss or damage to international shipments.

Please note that different carriers may have restrictions on certain items. Collectors and dealers are encouraged to consult with these carriers to confirm that their items are eligible.

We encourage international submitters to secure private insurance coverage, such as that provided by Hugh Wood, ShipandInsure.com, Brink's or Malca-Amit.

If you have private insurance, please contact NGC Customer Service at Service@NGCcoin.com or 800-NGC-COIN (642-2646) before submitting so that we can place this information on file. We must have this information on file prior to receiving your submission.

Note: If you submit to NGC International GmbH (NGC GmbH) in Munich, NGC International UK Limited (NGC UK) in London or NGC Hong Kong Ltd. (NGC Hong Kong), in Hong Kong, your submission will be fully insured in transit from the international location to NGC headquarters and back to the Official Submission Center. NGC also will handle all customs clearance for such submissions. Grading fees for NGC GmbH, NGC UK and NGC Hong Kong include round-trip shipping, insurance and customs clearance fees.

How much does return shipping cost?

Domestic USPS Registered Mail shipping fees are calculated according to the fee schedule here. Please note that additional charges may apply for extended or remote service areas, heavier packages, added items, return mint packaging, etc.

Shipping costs for international shipments vary based on the destination, weight and, sometimes, value of the package. If your submission will be returned to a non-US address, NGC will charge the domestic USPS Registered Mail rate at the time that your submission is received. If this amount does not cover the total cost of return shipping, you will be charged the additional cost at the time that your submission is shipped. You can estimate costs by visiting the USPS website.

Note: If you submit to NGC's Official Submission Centers in Munich or Hong Kong, your submission will be fully insured in transit from the Official Submission Center to NGC headquarters and back to the Official Submission Center. NGC will also handle all customs clearance for such submissions. Grading fees for NGC's Official Submission Centers in Munich and Hong Kong include round-trip shipping, insurance and customs clearance fees.

How does NGC handle customs for international return shipments?

Customs declaration forms for return shipments to international addresses must be completed by the submitter. Customs documents can be provided by NGC upon request. Any customs fees or taxes are the responsibility of the submitter.

How long will my package take to be delivered?

The following times are estimates based on NGC's experiences with these carriers and services.
For shipments to a US address:
USPS Registered Mail: 5-7 business days
USPS Express Mail: overnight
FedEx: overnight, 2 business days or 3 business days (based on customer's selection)
UPS: overnight, 2 business days or 3 business days (based on customer's selection)

For shipments to international addresses (note: times do not include the customs clearance process, which may vary by country):
USPS Registered Mail: 7-14 business days
USPS Express Mail: 5-7 business days
FedEx: 3-5 business days
UPS: 3-7 business days

Can I track a return shipment from NGC?

Yes. Submitters will receive an email within a few hours of their submission being shipped by NGC. This email will include shipping details and the carrier's tracking number. The tracking number can be entered on the carrier's website for up-to-date tracking information.

Can I change my shipping address after my submission has been shipped back to me?

No, in most cases you cannot change your shipping address or reroute a submission after it has been shipped back to you. This restriction helps to protect the security of your submissions.
