5-ounce Silver Quarter Certification at NGC

A 2010 5-ounce Hot Springs National Park quarter |
The 5-ounce America the Beautiful silver quarters for Yellowstone, Glacier, Gettysburg and Hot Springs have recently been released and NGC is ready to certify and encapsulate them.
The new 5-ounce silver quarters are three inches in diameter and, when certified by NGC, are encapsulated using the NGC Oversize Holder. Specially for these coins, NGC has introduced an EdgeView gasket for the Oversize Holder that holds the coin firmly in place while leaving portions of the edge clearly visible. The weight and metal fineness of these coins appears on their lettered edges.
The America’s National Treasures label is automatically applied to all submissions of America the Beautiful 5-ounce silver quarters and does not need to be requested specifically. The coins themselves should be submitted using Modern Tier and select Oversize Holder Service for an additional $25 per coin. NGC is waiving the minimum coin requirement on all submissions of these coins, and a submission as small as a single coin will be accepted using the Modern Tier.
Coins received by NGC within their first 30 days of release are eligible for the Early Releases designation. Submitters desiring this designation should submit their coins within the applicable time period using the Modern Special Tier and request Oversize Holder Service. The America’s National Treasure Series label will be used and the words EARLY RELEASES will appear beneath the grade.
Questions regarding submission procedures can be directed to NGC Customer Service using the online contact form or by calling 1-800-NGC-COIN (642-2646).
