Posted on 8/18/2025

The coin and medal are being released during the World's Fair of Money in Oklahoma City. Special submission instructions must be followed. See the "Submission Instructions" section of this article.

The US Mint is releasing the 2025-W American Liberty $100 High Relief Gold Coin and the 2025-P American Liberty Silver Medal, which celebrate American liberty, on August 21, 2025, during the Oklahoma City ANA World's Fair of Money. Struck at the West Point Mint, the gold coin has a mintage limit of only 12,000, while the silver medal, which was struck at the Philadelphia Mint, has a mintage limit of only 60,000.

NGC will offer the First Day of Issue, First Day - ANA and Oklahoma City ANA Releases designations for qualifying coins and medals submitted to NGC at the ANA World's Fair of Money Show. Special submission instructions must be followed. For regular submissions of these coins and medals, click here.

The obverses of the gold coin and silver medal depict a sunflower and a bee, representing the stewardship necessary to maintain liberty. The US Mint's American Liberty Gold Coin and Silver Medal Programs celebrate modern interpretations of American liberty by exploring themes beyond classical female figures personifying "Liberty," which have been used for decades. The 2025 American Liberty Gold Proof Coin and Silver Medal, once again, offer a different interpretation — a bold representation of the stewardship required to preserve American liberty.

The reverse design depicts an energetic and swirling modern depiction of a bald eagle. As America's national bird, bald eagles symbolize strength, freedom and independence. The one-ounce coin contains .9999 fine 24-karat gold, includes a reeded edge, a high relief Proof finish and a 'W' mintmark representing West Point. The one-ounce medal contains 99.9% fine silver, with a brilliant Proof finish and bears the 'P' mintmark representing Philadelphia.
