Well, this is my best points set. Next year, I will focus on improving the appearance of some of the lesser looking coins. Most everyone has a few coins that are pitted or contain an undesirable appearance. I will try to upgrade these coins. In addition, I would like to get all my coins, not just the Franklins, graded by NGC. It is my opinion that NGC graded coins are more valuable than other graded coins.
Further, as always, I will try to obtain some additional coins that are a little more rare than my current set. There is always room for improvement. This collection is, and has always been, a long term investment. Perhaps my grandchildren will pick up the hobby. If not, perhaps a collector will be interested in purchasing the collection and providing my grandchildren with some walking around money.
It was an enormous amount of fun to put this set up. It was also a great learning experience. I truly hope that you enjoy reviewing this set of coins.Read more...
Though a few of the varieties have yet to be added, this charming set is otherwise complete for all regular MS and PF Franklins. The quality of these coins is truly exceptional, with most of the MS coins being certified as FBL (full bell lines). The entries range from fully white pieces to those having exquisite toning. Among the latter a standout is the 1951(P) certified as NGC MS 67 FBL. The owner has expressed a goal of continuing to upgrade this set, as “There is always room for improvement.” Indeed, collecting is most enjoyable when there are more coins to buy
