This series for me and many others is a nostalgic coin series that always brings back memories of my early youth and time spent with my grandfather searching nickels. Please enjoy reviewing the coins I am presenting as well as some fun facts related to the specific year of the coin.
Arguably, the Buffalo nickel is one of the most beautiful coins minted by the United States. The obverse and reverse both represent the quintessential idea of the American plains/west. The series was in production from 1913-1938. The mints producing these coins were Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco. No Buffalo nickels were minted in 1922, 1932 and 1933.
This set is a short set representing the years and the mints of Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco that produced this beautiful coin between 1934-1938.
