My journey with Lincoln cents began at the age of 10 when my father would visit local banks and bring home rolls of pennies.
With the anticipation of Christmas morning, each roll was opened and every coin examined, then placed into its proper space in a Whitman folder purchased from the local Ben Franklin store for 39 cents—a modest beginning shared by so many collectors—that formed the foundation of my interest in the humble Lincoln penny.
What began as a simple childhood hobby soon became a lifelong passion, rooted in patience, discovery and a growing appreciation of American history reflected in each annual coin release. Over the decades, that early collection evolved into a carefully curated library of Lincoln cent proofs, featuring many of the finest certified examples available. Each coin was selected not only for its quality and rarity, but also for the place it holds within the broader story of American numismatics.
Today, this collection stands as a testament to a lifetime of dedication to the Lincoln cent series. Named The Three Roses Trust, the set reflects three generations of our family through a shared middle name, Rose.
More than a competitive registry set, it is a legacy built one coin at a time, intended to be preserved and passed forward to my daughter and granddaughter—carrying both the collection and the memories that shaped it.
