It seems to be that the Half Dollar in general is an under-appreciated coin. The ones intended for circulation such as the Kennedy are a VERY handsome coin, yet most people never use them.
Even when the Mint issues annual commemoratives, so many years do NOT have half dollars!
Then, even THOSE half dollars are CLAD, rather than precious silver. One wonders why? They are commemorative after all? Limited production, not intended for circulation? Why would they do this?
