I enjoy pennies/cents in all grades. Red, red & brown, brown, green, blue, slung across the parking lot by a street cleaner… if it somehow appeals to me, I keep it. I’ve taken the time to search hundreds and hundreds of rolls, and have composed several uncertified sets that include those. Most of them are worth less numismatically than the flips in which they’re stored. But as a true collector, I keep what I keep for my own enjoyment.
Following, you can view my completion of certified small types. I actively put these together after my silver types reached as far back as the Seated designs, and I’m happy to have completed this set.
Of course, these won’t earn any awards from the registry. However, unlike those coins that belong to the winners: these are mine. I can get them out from that safe whenever I like, and enjoy tangibly viewing them. Whether your collection ranks at the top of this broad pool of collectors, hits the average range, or settles lower: I hope you appreciate yours just the same.
