This set is one I will try to assemble in the future but I currently have only one very interesting coin dated 1720 with a BB mintmark (Strasbourg France).This coin while part of this set has a colonial connection in the United States as a coin tied to a failed economic venture.
It is listed on page 49 of “The Red Book of United States Coins” by R.S.Yeoman.The venture was known as the John Law “Mississippi Bubble venture.Much more about this failed colonial American venture can be researched online.Eventually the United States was able to purchase what we refer to today as the Louisiana Purchase in 1804 from France.Lewis & Clark along with Sacagawea acting as an interpreter and guide explored this large territory prior to President Thomas Jefferson’s purchase on behalf of the country.
