Manufactured in Fiji. The US Mint just can't do everything that collectors ask for. The Gold Buffalo was the 1st 24K Gold coin the Mint produced in 2006. The US Mint did ask for suggestions and they could have done a contest with a new design but James Earl Fraser's design was highly desired, so they went with it.
In 2008 we did get a 4-coin Gold Fractional Buffalo set in Proof & Burnished finish. Then in 2021, they did a commemorative $1 Silver in MS and Poor with a mintage of 500,000 which was an instant sell out.
Some of the top dealers got together to create coin programs that the US Mint has been unable to produce but collectors desired.
This is the 2023 Fiji Fractional Silver Buffalo Reverse Proof 4-coin set NGC Reverse Proof 70 First Day of Issue Buffalo label set.
The reverse proof set comes in 1/10, 1/4, 1/2, and 1 ounce coins.
RARE. Only 2,5000 sets were made and the population of reverse proof sets graded Reverse Proof as FDI was 350.
Note this 4-piece Fractional Buffalo set is stored in a white coin collector box with a label.
