One of my coin collecting goals was to assemble an early-date proof set. I chose this date because I got a head start with the acquisition of the 1877 Indian Head cent in proof condition in connection with the completion of my Indian Head cent collection. This date also has some unusual denominations in the 3 cent and 20 cent pieces, not found in modern coinage.
I enjoy these early date proof sets for their beauty and the variety of coins included.
