Collecting business strike Braided Hair Half Cents has been a fun endeavor. My original goal was to collect them with red and brown color, however, this became too challenging in the 1849, 1850 and 1853 dates. I do think I managed to put together a pleasing set in the end.
The Braided Hair series is fun to collect. Every coin is numismatically scarce, however, lack of popularity leaves these coins relatively affordable. The series of business strikes is also short (8 coins) and there is only one variety for the type. It's a very approachable way to get into Early American Copper.
