This high end Eisenhower Proof is named in honor of my cousin who lost his life defending freedom at Saipan during World War II. He received the Purple Heart and his named is etched at the Punch Bowl Memorial Cemetery in Hawaii. Eisenhower Proofs were minted in honor of IKE/s service as president , General of Allied forces during the same war and to celebrate America's Bicentennial.
It is be very difficult to compete for the top spot of this competitive set due to the criterial differences between NGC and PCGS. This modern classic has delivered in providing the highest quality available from NGC and PCGS.
The set contains five STAR 69 Ultra Cameo's which are highest grade within the series in NGC, NGC believes and rightfully so that the technology of the Mint couldn't obtain the Proof 70 standard until 1976. This set also contains that coin as well.
The hunt is for the best when it comes to the Eisenhower in obtaining coins with the deepest frosting as possible. This set has 8/11 QA (Quality Assurance) and two Everest coin.
It is exciting to see after all these years the Eisenhower is coming into its own as a modern classic set.
