1953 saw the start of the greatest "Crusade" in Bahá’í history, launched 100 years after Bahá'u'lláh's exile from His family's noble roots in the Persian Empire to become a prisoner of the Ottoman Empire for the remainder of His life.
From spring 1953-1963, Bahá’ís "pioneered" to countries that never before had been home to followers of this Faith, building unity in neighborhoods of people of all races, religions and nationalities, eliminating prejudices, assisting the advance of both material and spiritual prosperity -- it was the mightiest collective effort yet made by Bahá’ís to apply the teachings of Bahá'u'lláh to our individual and collective lives and bring hope and love into the hearts of our "one human family" members.
By 1963 this outreach resulted in 56 countries electing their Bahá'í National Spiritual Assemblies, and these Assemblies then elected the 1st Universal House of Justice (learn more about this democratically elected governing body for the Bahá'í Faith, unique among the world's religions, at the #1 collection for proof 1963 coins).
Recently, in 2022, the Bahá’ís began a similar plan that will last 9 years, with goals to bring "the society building powers" and peaceful principles of Bahá'u'lláh's teachings to neighborhoods around the globe that continue to suffer terribly from disunity, injustice and violence.
