This is the only certified modern coin set I will ever collect. The American Eagle Platinum Proof set is by far the most rare offering that the US mint has ever made to modern coin collecting. In addition I have chosen to collect the most rare offering denomination in that set the $50 1/2 Ounce .9995 Proof Platinum. 2008 will mark the end of the current series honering the various branches of the government and with the price of Platinum I predict an end of the series or at least from 2008 onward a historically low mintage of future releases. When you consider two coins in this series to date have had mintages lower than the 1915-S Pan Pacific $50 Octagonal Gold Piece you begin to understand how rare and valuable this set will one day become! All coins in this set are PR70 including the one currently graded 69 which is at NGC for quality check as it also is flawless!
