The Sacagawea Golden Dollar has been one of my favorite coins since it was introduced and even carry one in my pocket all the time. The engraving of Sacagawea I believe is one of the finest produced by the U.S. Mint. As I re-entered the world of coin collecting in late 2021, (collected Lincoln Cents as a kid with my dad), I decided to use the Sacagawea as the series to learn the ins and outs of collecting coins. My objective is to acquire and maintain a complete graded and ungraded set. Hoping to make the graded set all NGC, but I think that will take additional time.
Starting in 2023, I am making a special effort to enhance my written comments for each coin. In some cases going into great detail about the development of the theme for each coin, its designer and engraver. It’s my hope that as you explore my collection you will spend some time reading about each coin. The reference sources for information came from: the U.S. Mint, NGC, PCGS, The Spruce Craft Hobbits, Coin Week and the SmallDollar websites.
