34 different coins make up the 1859 Mint Set. 12 of the coins are rare and many are expensive in Mint State condition. Some of the mint marked gold coins are unknown in Mint State and collectors must settle for AU-55 or lower grades. The 1859-O $10 gold Eagle has seen the fewest grading submissions at 59 times while the 1859-O $20 gold Double Eagle boasts the highest price at $82,500 in AU-55 grade.
