There are 3 coins in this 23 coin set that make it difficult to complete. The one coin that is both rare and expensive is the 1882 $20 Gold Double Eagle with an original mintage of just 571 pieces. Today only about 35 pieces are known to survive with a price guide listing of $150,000 for a MS-60 piece. The other two very expensive coins are the 1882-CC Gold Eagle and the 1882-CC Gold Double Eagle.

Fewest (239) Grading Submissions - 1882 MS-64 Quarter. This date has the second fewest survivors in the 23 coin set.
Most valuable - 1882 MS-63 $3 Gold piece.
Best eye appeal - 1882-S MS-64+ $5 Half Eagle
