There are 3 rare coins in the 25 coin 1879 Mint Set. The two rarest are the 1879-CC and 1879-O $10 Gold Eagles, both with populations under 100 coins. The 3rd. rare coin is the 1879-O $20 Gold Double Eagle with about 150 -160 known survivors.
