The 1873 Mint Set is huge, requiring 37 different coins for a complete set. Many of the coins are rare, with 12 different coins having a slabbed population of less than 200 pieces. The 1873-CC quarter has a known population of only 5 pieces. The 1873 Gold Eagle has only been submitted to both NGC and PCGS for grading a total of 39 times.
