Can't quite say when i began collecting for this set. Some of the coins have been with me since 2009, most much more recently though.
After completing the Franklin circulated set in 2021, which I may have only looked at once since that time, I decided an achievable variety set was far more interesting and something i'd be happy to go through on a regular basis.
Personnally, the 19th century silver is by far the most interesting portion of this set. Many of the coins are common enough to be appreciated by the average collector, but rare enough to be prized.
Gold pieces were assembled quickly in late 2021, as a purchase of 6 double eagles morphed into the full set as i wanted to maintain some value in gold pieces.
Financial constraints on this type of set allow me to focus on high "everyman" quality, with hopes to have a minimum grade for all pieces in the AU to low MS range when complete.
At current, i would expect to complete the full set by mid 2023. Focus on my Byzantine and medieval sets may steal some funds away, as may the kids!
