This collection was started by my 2nd grandson . I started a collections of Japanese coins for his older brother and as we updated our coins I would give the replaced coins to the little guy for his collection. One day we were doing this and at the age of 7 he asked why does he get the lower graded coins :-). I thought about it and said your right what coins do you want for your collection and he said the painted 1000 yen coins. We have spent a lot of hours together creating this set and what a wonderful memory I have doing this. This collection will be passed on to him when the time comes and Im sure it will bring back memories for him of his grandpa. What a great honor it was to be selected as one of the top winners in the registry for new set. He is one happy camper.
