Beautiful artistic pieces of almost an ounce of gold each. This common date 1904 in the forefront was my first slabbed gold coin purchase in the mid 90’s. Over $400 at the time seemed like a lot of money. Now it’s five times that amount.
I do love the entire Liberty gold series in all denominations. These big boys are something though. When you look at one, and feel it in your hand, that’s quite the sensation.
I had the much heralded twentieth century examples, 1902-P and 1905-P, yet sold both to start my New Orleans $10 Liberties. They were both nice
AU-58’s. Will always keep my first double eagle, the 1904. Common as this Philadelphia date is, this 63 example would grade MS-64 if it were resubmitted. Or a gold CAC bean. This coin is absolutely gorgeous up close.
Thanks for peeking at what I have left in the large series Liberty double eagles.
