I remember finding my first Mercury Dime in 1971 when I helped count and wrap coins at a fundraiser. The Mercury Dime was and is a work of art. I asked my teacher if I could have it. She held it in her desks until I came back with a dime from home to replace it. This was Grade 2 in Niagara Falls, Canada. From then on I had to read about all the gods and I made my mom and dad empty their pockets so I could search their coins. That was the start of my coun collection.
