Be it discovery of technology in it's day, events that changed our nation or maybe it's something about the "old west" feel of this coin that brings the kid out of me in this collection.
I opened this in 2020 as I have a majority of the years and have acquired quite a few new Morgans this year. The dates are now complete.
I'll just continue to improve the set over time. These coins represent what the average American would have been holding if they had one of those coins in their day.
This is also a reachable collection for anyone that collects Morgans. Most of the coins are not that expensive. Many of them are under $300.
Quite a few pick ups (and improvements) online as COVID-19 has put a damper on coin shows.
Craigslist, eBay, other auction websites and online stores have become my friends. Overall it has made this a challenge since all you have to work with is pictures to evaluate a coin. But there are also deals out there if you find the right shop or website.
My GOAL is to present a nice respectable "Mint State" collection at an average "Gem State" level. An overall average of all coins in the rating of MS64 or higher. So far it is looking good, but I would like to improve some coins in this collection.
