The Boyhood Dream Proof Set Collection includes a complete set of Brilliant Post-War Proof American coinage from 1950 to 1964 - in the highest grades an Average Joe can afford. There are no cameo coins in this collection at all. Excepting a couple Franklin Half Dollars, every coin has been graded Proof 68 or 69 by NGC. Most are Proof 69s.
Post-War Proofs are a great series of coins to collect. In the early years of the series there were very small mintages -- so Post-War Proofs have ‘Absolute Rarity’. And the U.S. Mint's poor packaging and quality control throughout the series caused many of the coins to be scratched, toned, milk-spotted, hazy or damaged in some way. So the Post-War Proof series has ‘Condition Rarity’ as well.
High-grade Proofs from the early years of this series are getting expensive. But in slightly lower grades, even entry-level enthusiasts can afford to buy them.
