Modern Gold Commemoratives in all finishes from 1984 to present are found in this set. I started this set in 2011 in an attempt to put together a complete set of gold coins in NGC holders representing top population specimens. The difficult to find coins were in the early $10 gold Olympic issues. The D and S PF 70 Ultra Cameo were the most difficult to find. With the recent increase gold prices to $3,345 per ounce I observed recent offers of all the $10 golds at attractive prices. I also see that the bi-metal coins (platinum ring and gold center) for the 1978 Constitution Bicentennial and keys of the previous decades (1997 W Robinson in MS 70 as pictured) have fallen to very attractive levels. Many of the scarce gold issues can now be obtained for modest amounts over melt values. (Comments as of 4/21/2025)
