These are coins that I committed the ultimate sin of breaking them out of their holders to fill a Dansco album.
My #1 set, of Indians,is made up of exclusively mint state examples. For this I wanted to find nice-looking coins that would look good together in an album. Consequently, I was okay with sliders and solid XF coins. The coins look great in the album and there is something about a complete album that makes me feel good. I am happy to look all the coins side by side and remember filling, or trying to fill, holes in my Whitman folders from when I was young with no operating capital.
Obviously, for the later date coin slots I was able to buy raw, IGC, ANACS or coins from whatever service that met that met my 2 criteria: 1) nice eye appeal and 2) certain authenticity. So they are not here.
I also have a hard time chasing high grades for common coins just to move a set up. To get 1870's Indians in high grade is great but to add a very high grade 1907 (that does not match the set) not my thing.
