The 1966 MS Business Strike Set of 5 denominational coins - a copper or bronze -P Lincoln Memorial 1C, a clad (-D or -S) Jefferson Monticello 5C, a clad -P Roosevelt Full Torch 10C, clad -P Washington Bald Eagle 25C and silver -P Kennedy Presidential Seal 50C - is extremely difficult and pricey to collect for all coins in their top grades. Thank God the set is simply limited to 5 coins similar to the 1965 and 1967 Mint Sets, and unlike those in the 1970's or 1999 to the present where sets include a dozen or up to 36 individual coins. As of 11/29/22 the MS 67 RD Lincoln has a pop of 31(2+)/0 and PG value of $375 (won from an eBay auction a few years back paying a handsome price over today's trend). The MS 67 Jefferson in an Old(er) Holder (OH) has a top pop of 21/0 and $850 PG (won from a GreatCollections auction at a steal price or tiny fraction of current value). Note that there are two.better coins in the MS 65 5FS pop of 1/1 with value approaching $10,000 or the stratosphere from there.. The MS 68 FT has top pop of 8/0 and a low $700 PG (purchased from moderncoinking on eBay on a best offer). I paid close to full freight, but one has to for a coin that may show up for sale once per 5 or 10 years. The MS 67 Washington was won in an auction from the "King of Coins" Mark DiLauro of renown "datentype" on eBay. The MS 66+ Kennedy has a Plus pop of 13/2 and +$900 PG value (won from a GreatCollections auction on a rainy day...). Please click on a specific coin below for more comments on each.
My tied and fierce competitor friend on this set, Jerry of "Eagles Nest," has the same grades and score of coins may agree with my view of future improvement is a search to obtain a higher ranked MS 68 -P Washington 25C (23/0 of limited pop and high $5,750 PG) and/or MS 67 -P Kennedy 50C (8/1 of minute pop and $5,500 PG) to break the tie, a very costly scenario indeed to upgrade from here.
All told I have invested a total of $1,451 for the current 5 coins that have a combined $3,075 PG value...if interested I would sell the set that has taken me 15 years to assemble as is for the full PG set valuation.
