In 2011, 25 years had passed since the start of the silver eagle program. The US Mint wanted to memorialize this milestone with a large set that included issues from all 3 Mints that had been involved with production up until then, Philadelphia, West Point and San Francisco. The limited mintage and noon start to internet ordering assured this was a quick sellout and is still reflected in a premium for some of the coins today.
