I've been a budget minded collector for all of my life. I started out with nothing more than a 25 pound box of wheat cents my grandfather sent to me so I've always looked for the way to stretch my dollar the farthest and best way when it came to putting my collection together. I've found that there are bargains to be found out there and I've made good choices and have gotten burned on occasion, but always with the goal of having fun and enjoying this hobby.
Almost all of this set was put together by me about five years ago in a Dansco album I bought especially for it, replacing the Whitman folder my father bought me when I was twelve. Approximately 40-50 of the coins that will appear in this set will come directly out of this album. I spent a number of years picking out quality coins for the album and putting it together to create a rich and beautiful set that would captivate all I showed it to. But now I've found that I want to add value to the set and showcase the beautiful coins that I have painstakingly put together for my own enjoyment. What better way to do that than to have them slabbed. It is going to take a while, because let's face it, having 60 coins graded and slabbed isn't cheap, but I think in the long run it is going to be well worth it. The rest of the coins, I will bargain hunt for and see what I can snap up raw and maybe purchase a few already slabbed if the price is right. The only condition is I want to match the set which means only NGC slabs. Every single picture has been taken by me with my trusty Pentax X-5 on a custom macro setting, 8.3-11X optical zoom about 5-6 inches from the coins with the flash activated and the coin at a very slight inclined angle, very slight.
