24 coins are required to complete this set. There are 4 coins which are scarce (NGC population numbers between 100 and 200 pieces each) and 4 other coins which are expensive (cost over $10,000 for an MS-63 example). The 4 scarce coins are the 1911-D quarter (NGC pop of 137 pieces), the 1911-S quarter (NGC pop of 173 pieces), the 1911-D Half (NGC pop of 167 pieces) and the 1911-S Half (NGC pop of 150 pieces). As if that isn't tough enough, the gold $2.50, $5.00 and $10.00 1911-D's in MS-63 sell for about $13,000, $40,000 and $25,000 respectively. The gold 1911-S $10.00 coins retail for about $11,000 in MS-63. Looks to me like this set is doomed to have a lot of holes for a long time.
