22 coins are required to complete this very difficult set. Nine different coins have NGC populations of less than 400 pieces. Most difficult to locate will be the 1901-O Half (NGC pop of only 101 pieces), 1901-O Quarter (NGC pop of 110 pieces) and the 1901-S Half (NGC pop of 122 pieces). Unless you are willing to accept a very low grade coin, the real stopper is the 1901-S Quarter (NGC pop of 377 pieces). This coin is very rare above the VG grade, with only about a dozen NGC pieces falling between the Fine and AU-58 grades. Another 12 coins carry uncirculated NGC grades. If you can find a 1901-S quarter, expect to pay around $15,000 for a fine specimen to over $50,000 for an MS-63 example.
