My initial aspirations for this Type I gold dollar set is to find and collect all of the various mint marked coins with an example of at least one from each mint that struck Type I gold dollars. At the time that this basic set definition is completed, additional coins will be added to work toward completion fo this set in mostly AU or better grade coins.
These little gold coins have always fascinated me since I bought my first one in 1966 (a 1849-P Open Wreath) No L dollar that would probably grade MS62 today. My major next goal for this set is to find a 1854-S gold dollar in XF/AU for this set which may become a longer term project. In any event, I would cherish owning an 1854-S T1 gold dollar.
