1793 Through date cents
When I first became interested in coin collecting I came up with a goal that would soon become an obsession - To own one penny from every year they were minted in the US from 1793 through the current date. I soon discovered that there was no way for anyone to own the top of the line coins to cover such a time span.
I guess I was forced into just filling slots - and no matter what anyone might think - this in itself was a challenge that - as far as I know - no one else has attempted. In spite of the improbability my coins from 1857 to date are all Mint State with one exception - the 1922 no d AU 55. I think it is safe to say that my collection of one cent coins from 1793 to date in itself is very unique. When you also consider that it also includes all one cent proof Lincoln coins not shown in this collection with the exception of one it is even more of a outstanding example of what I wanted for my collection.
I am very proud of this set and yet at the same time I would be happy to accept any and all competitors in this set. I think I can safely say that for anyone who wants a challenge the completion of such a set poses more than any other set I have run across.
