I somewhat backed into collecting Washingtons. My main coin collecting Love is/are toned Franklins. After completing the set (see "TonedBennies") and while waiting for the occasional upgrade, I wandered into a B&M and saw a pleasant 1940-S Washington in an old "fatty" NGC holder. I bought it, and, after looking at some of the late 1950's Washingtons I already owned, realized that I could use my expertise in 1948-63 date/mm toning characteristics to put together a fun, relatively inexpensive, set of toned Washies from 1940-64 in MS65-7.
