Künker Sale Features German and other Rare World Coins Certified by NGC

A nearly 400-year-old rare German coin certified by Numismatic Guaranty Company™ (NGC®) is the top lot in Künker's Auction 363. Online bidding is already underway for the sale, which is being held March 23-24, 2022.
The Germany (1631-dated) 4 Ducats graded NGC MS 63 (lot 2429) has an estimate of €75,000 (about $81,800). Its obverse displays a cityscape of Nurnberg, which was then a free city within the Holy Roman Empire but today is part of southern Germany. On the reverse is a crowned double eagle clutching a scepter and a sword and wearing a medallion displaying a portrait of Holy Roman Emperor Ferdinand II.
Other NGC-graded highlights in the sale include:
- a German New Guinea 1895A 20 Marks graded NGC MS 66+ (lot 3305), with an estimate of €40,000 (about $43,600)
- a China 1910 50 Cents graded NGC PF 64★ Cameo (lot 2684), with an estimate of €20,000 (about $21,800)
- a Germany 1609 Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel 5 Taler graded NGC AU 58 and pedigreed to the Paramount Collection (lot 2815), with an estimate of €20,000 (about $21,800)
- a Germany 1620 Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel 5 Taler graded NGC MS 61 and pedigreed to the Paramount Collection (lot 2816), with an estimate of €17,500 (about $19,100)
- a Mexico 1747MO MF 8 Escudos graded NGC AU 53 (lot 2255), with an estimate of €15,000 (about $16,400)
- a Germany 1655 HS Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel 4 Taler graded NGC AU 55 and pedigreed to the Paramount Collection (lot 2824), with an estimate of €15,000 (about $16,400)
- a Germany 1665 HS Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel 3 Taler graded NGC AU 58 and pedigreed to the Paramount Collection (lot 2839), with an estimate of €15,000 (about $16,400)
- a Germany (c. 1650) Gold Jesus Circumcision Medal graded NGC MS 63 (lot 2138), with an estimate of €10,000 (about $10,900)
