NGC-certified European Coins from Salton Collection Featured in Künker Auction

Centuries-old coins from Central Europe are being offered in a March sale.

Over 70 European coins certified by Numismatic Guaranty Company™ (NGC®) are starring in Künker’s Auction 362, which features selections from the prestigious Salton Collection. Online bidding is currently underway for these incredible vintage coins, with the sale wrapping up March 22, 2022.

One of the top NGC-certified coins in the sale is a Bohemia (1612) Prague 5 Ducats graded NGC MS 62 (lot 1363), which has an estimated price of €50,000 (about $56,600). The obverse features three consecutive Holy Roman Emperors: Maximilian I, and his grandsons Charles V and Ferdinand I. Currently, there are only two examples recorded in the NGC Census.

Another coin in the sale that has an estimate of €50,000 (about $56,600) is a Hungary 1668/7KB 10 Ducats graded NGC AU 58 (lot 1380). It shows Holy Roman Emperor Leopold I, who ruled from 1658 to 1705. Among his accomplishments was recovering much of the Hungarian territory lost to the Ottoman Empire.

Other NGC-certified highlights from the Salton Collection in the sale include:

  • a Germany 1598 Bavaria 8 Ducats graded NGC MS 61 (lot 1480), which has an estimate of €50,000 (about $56,600)
  • a Germany 1614 12 Ducats Teutonic Order graded NGC MS 61 (lot 1551), which has an estimate of €50,000 (about $56,600)
  • a Germany (1749) Regensburg 8 Ducats graded NGC MS 61+ (lot 1628), which has an estimate of €50,000 (about $56,600)
  • a Germany 1653 Regensburg 10 Ducats graded NGC MS 63 (lot 1627), which has an estimate of €30,000 (about $33,900)
  • a Netherlands 1687 Holland Ducat graded NGC PF 63+ (lot 1289), which has an estimate of €30,000 (about $33,900)
  • a Germany 1698 GFN Nurnberg 5 Ducats graded NGC MS 64 PL (lot 1609), which has an estimate of €30,000 (about $33,900)
  • an Austria 1522 Salzburg 4 Ducats graded NGC UNC Details (lot 1438), which has an estimate of €25,000 (about $28,300)
  • an Austria 1654 Salzburg 10 Ducats graded NGC MS 61 (lot 1444), which has an estimate of €20,000 (about $22,600)
  • an Austria 1654 Salzburg 10 Ducats graded NGC AU 58 (lot 1445), which has an estimate of €20,000 (about $22,600)
  • a Germany 1771 Hamburg 10 Ducats graded NGC MS 62 (lot 1579), which has an estimate of €20,000 (about $22,600)
