Rare Italian Coins Certified by NGC Highlight Aurora Sale

A rare Italian coin certified by Numismatic Guaranty Company™ (NGC®) that features a portrait of the king who reigned during two world wars is one of more than 275 NGC-graded world coins in an upcoming Aurora San Marino sale. Online bidding is already underway for Asta Aurora 25, which concludes March 19, 2022.
Most of the coins in the sale are from Italy. The top lot is an Italy 1902R Gold 20 Lire graded NGC MS 61 (lot 135), with a starting price of €25,000 (about $28,300). The obverse of the coin displays a portrait of Victor Emmanuel III, the king of Italy from 1900 to 1946.

Another highlight is an Italy 1830-Anchor P Sardinia 80 Lire graded NGC MS 64+ (lot 314).The coin, which features a portrait of King Charles Felix, the final member of the House of Savoy line to rule Sardinia, has a starting price of €10,000 (about $11,300).

- an Italy 1937R 100 Lire graded NGC MS 62 (lot 127), with a starting price of €20,000 (about $22,600)
- an Italy 1873R Gold 20 Lire graded NGC MS 62 (lot 337), with a starting price of €12,500 (about $14,100)
- an Italy 1860 5 Lire Emilia graded NGC MS 62 (lot 334), with a starting price of €11,000 (about $12,400)
- an Italy 1769/59 Zecchino graded NGC MS 63 (lot 175), with a starting price of €10,000 (about $11,300)
- an Italy 1905R 100 Lire graded NGC MS 62 PL (lot 118), with a starting price of €10,000 (about $11,300)
- a Brazil 1725M 20,000 Reis graded NGC MS 61+ (lot 391), with a starting price of €8,000 (about $9,000)
