NGC-certified Rare Vintage German Coin Featured in Teutoburger Sale

A rare German coin certified by Numismatic Guaranty Company™ (NGC®) that shows a portrait of Frederick IV, a leader in the Holy Roman Empire, is among more than three dozen NGC-graded European coins in an upcoming Teutoburger Munzauktion sale. Online bidding is already underway for Auction 143, which concludes March 3, 2022.
The coin with the highest estimate in the sale is a Germany 1639 Brunswick-Luneburg-Celle 4 Taler graded NGC MS 61 (lot 1980). The coin’s obverse features Frederick, Duke of Brunswick-Luneburg-Celle, a territory within the Holy Roman Empire. It has a pre-auction estimate of €85,000 (about $95,800).
Other NGC-certified highlights of the sale include:
- a Germany 1650 Brunswick-Luneburg-Celle 5 Taler graded NGC AU 58 (lot 1983), with an estimate of €35,000 (about $39,400)
- an Austria 1486 Tyrol 1 Guldiner graded NGC VF 20 (lot 1787), with an estimate of €7,500 (about $8,500)
- a Germany (1508-52) Saxony 1 Taler graded NGC MS 61 (lot 2134), with an estimate of €6,000 (about $6,800)
- a Germany 1660 CR Saxony 1 Taler graded NGC AU 53 (lot of 2160), with an estimate of €3,500 (about $3,900)
- a Belgium 1911 100 Francs graded NGC PF 64 (lot 1322), with an estimate of €2,000 (about $2,300)
- a Belgium 1911 Bronze Plain Edge 100 Francs graded NGC PF 66 RB (lot 1321), with an estimate of €1,500 (about $1,700)
