Posted on 10/22/2021

Dozens of other NGC-graded rarities from Asia are also featured in the November sale.

Vintage coins from Asia that have been certified by Numismatic Guaranty Company™ (NGC®) are being offered in Spink’s Numismatic Collectors’ Series sale. Online bidding has already begun for the auction, which takes place in Hong Kong on November 5, 2021.

Featured in the sale is a silver dollar from the Kirin Province in northeastern China minted during the Qing Dynasty in 1905. The coinage was part of the Guangxu Emperor’s attempt to westernize Chinese currency with the use of coins that were machine-made rather than hand-struck. This China 1905 Kirin Silver Dollar with Rosettes graded NGC MS 62 (lot 6204) has an estimate of HK$35,000 to HK$70,000 (about $4,500 to $9,000 USD).
