Posted on 10/17/2021

Other NGC-graded numismatic treasures in the sale include several shipwreck rarities and a Spanish coin from the time of Columbus.

More than 650 world rarities that have been certified by Numismatic Guaranty Company™ (NGC®) are being offered in Daniel Frank Sedwick LLC’s Auction 30. Online bidding has already begun for the sale, which takes place in six sessions being held November 4-8, 2021.

The top lot in the sale is one of the rarest Japanese coins of any era, which has a mintage of about 100 and has a surviving population just a fraction of that. It is extremely uncommon for one of these coins to appear at auction. This Japan M13 (1880) 20 Sen graded NGC PF 62 (Session 3, lot 1173) has an estimate of $35,000 to $70,000.

It features on its obverse a portrait of Queen Isabella I and King Ferdinand II, who jointly ruled Spain from 1474 through 1504.
