By the end of the Civil War, the only operating mints were in Philadelphia and San Francisco, producing a scarce amount of government-issued coinage. The 1864 $5 gold issue is one of the lowest minted from 1862 to 1872. This especially rare Civil War Liberty Head Half Eagle is one of only 50 struck at the Philadelphia Mint in 1864 in the Proof format.

Other NGC-certified highlights include:

Session 1/4 – October 19

Session 2/4 – October 19

Session 3/4 – October 20

All starting prices provided by the auction house.
