NGC Registry: Featured Jefferson Nickel Set
Posted on 1/21/2020
This month, we are excited to present James G. Berline’s extensive Jefferson Nickel collection found here: Jefferson Nickels 1938-Date, Circulation Issue.
Jim's Jefferson Collection |
Started back in March of 2011, this set has grown to encompass an impressive total of 148 Jeffersons! Whether you are a novice or veteran coin collector, you will immediately notice that Jim has spent extensive time and energy researching and assembling this noteworthy set.
Every coin has carefully planned comments, which cover a diverse and interesting range of topics. Not only does he mention mintage, population, metal content, etc., but he also references respected icons like Bernard Nagengast and designer Felix Schlag. Historic events are scattered throughout the set as are his own personal anecdotes that are both informative and entertaining.
In addition to the informative comments, this set has images for all 148 coins, offering a good overview of many coins of this extensive series. Thank you, Jim, for your dedication to coin collecting and to the NGC Registry. We look forward to your future updates!
Would you like your set to be chosen for a future feature article? Because 100% completion of a set type is not always feasible, our team will also feature sets with thoughtful comments and images for all their coins. Perhaps, we will choose someone whose set has a personal story behind it or some interesting historical facts. We are looking for those sets where someone has taken the time to make the set unique and a reflection of his/her personal collecting style. It may be your set! Stay tuned.
