NGC Registry: Featured Mexico Set
Posted on 12/10/2019
This month, we are excited to present Abuelo’s Collection’s unique set found here: Mexico: Silver Peso, Cap & Rays, 1898-1909, Circulation Issue, Including Varieties
Initiated in early 2017, this set has slowly grown to include 26 quality examples of the popular Mexican Caps and Rays silver peso. This collector has carefully planned his set expansion, the latest addition occurring in just September of this year. Abuelo’s Collection has taken the time to upload sharp images for all 26 of his coins. They are a true pleasure to view, and the descriptive comments are artful and include pertinent mintage numbers. For anyone desiring to learn about this series, this set is worth the read. Thank you, Abuelo’s Collection, for your contributions to the NGC Registry. We look forward to your future updates!
“This is an extraordinary coin. Even ignoring the Norweb provenance, the proof-like surfaces are incredible, and the champagne tone is delightful. …I was very lucky to get this coin in the collection.” (Abuelo’s Collection.)
Would you like your set to be chosen for a future feature article? 100% completion in a set type is not always doable. Our team will also feature sets with thoughtful comments and images for all their coins. Perhaps, we will choose someone whose set has a personal story behind it or some interesting historical facts. We are looking for those sets where someone has taken the time to make the set unique and a reflection of his/her personal collecting style. It may be your set! Stay tuned.
