American Liberty 2019 High Relief Silver Medal

Posted on 8/7/2019

The US Mint will release a High Relief gold $100 coin and a companion silver medal. Special submission instructions must be followed. See the "Submission Instructions" section of this article.

The 2019-W American Liberty 24K Gold $100 Coin and companion 2019-P American Liberty Silver Medal go on sale from the US Mint on August 15.

The obverse of the coin and medal was designed by Richard Masters, an artist with the US Mint’s Artistic Infusion Program. The design features an impressive portrait of Liberty with flowing hair. Masters’ design was sculpted by US Mint Chief Sculptor-Engraver Joseph F. Menna.

The reverse of the coin and medal was designed by Donna Weaver, another Artistic Infusion Program artist, and features an imposing eagle with its talons gripped. US Mint Sculptor-Engraver Michael Gaudioso sculpted Weaver’s design.

The 1-ounce, .9999 fine gold $100 is being struck at the West Point Mint. The silver medal is being struck at the Philadelphia Mint and is the first bullion 2.5-ounce medal ever produced by the US Mint.
