NGC Chairman Mark Salzberg Honored by NSDR with Lifetime Achievement Award

Numismatic Guaranty Corporation® (NGC®) is proud to announce that Mark Salzberg, NGC Chairman and Finalizer, has been honored with the 2018 Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Silver Dollar Roundtable (NSDR).

"For nearly 40 years, the NDSR has brought together some of the hobby's top experts on US silver dollars," said Salzberg, a Life Member of the NDSR. "It is a honor to accept this prestigious award."

The award was announced at the NSDR Banquet at the FUN Show on January 11, 2019. It is officially called the John W. Highfill Lifetime Achievement Award, in recognition of Highfill's longtime service to the NSDR, which he founded.

NGC has graded more than 42 million coins, with vintage US silver dollars representing about 10 percent of that figure. NGC has made an abundance of information about silver dollars available to the public on NGCcoin.com, including through the NGC Census, NGC Coin Explorer and the US Coin Price Guide.

"Mark has made countless contributions to the numismatic world," Highfill said. "His longevity at NGC was instrumental in our decision last year to name NGC as the Official Grading Service of the NSDR."

Salzberg, who has been an NGC Finalizer for more than 30 years, was honored with the American Numismatic Association's Numismatist of the Year award in 2006.
