Posted on 8/31/2018
Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing Max Spiegel has been named to the Board of Directors of the Industry Council for Tangible Assets (ICTA).
Formed in 1983, ICTA is the watchdog for the rare coins industry on legislative and regulatory affairs. ICTA’s Anti-Counterfeiting Task Force (ACTF) aims to educate law enforcement and policy makers about the rising threat of counterfeiting, and to provide expertise and other resources in the investigation and prosecution of counterfeiters and those involved in their distribution networks.
Employed by NGC since 2010, Spiegel will work with the other members of the Board of Directors to set policy and reaffirm ICTA’s mission to offer valuable information and safeguard the industry. Spiegel brings extensive international experience through his work with NGC and its affiliated companies, which have a rapidly growing global presence with offices in London, Munich, Shanghai and Hong Kong. NGC has authenticated, graded and encapsulated more than 41 million coins, including more than 15 million from outside the United States.
NGC has partnered with ICTA on various counterfeit detection and other initiatives. Scott Schechter, NGC Vice President and Finalizer, has served on the Steering Committee of ICTA’s Anti-Counterfeiting Task Force (ACTF), as well as the Packaging Security Work Group. In addition, NGC has helped raise significant funds to support ICTA’s mission.
