NGC Transitioning to Title Case for Label Descriptions

Posted on 10/23/2017

Change allows for more readable type and larger graphics

NGC is now using title case (upper and lower case letters) for certain coin descriptions on its certification labels for newly released coins. Previously, all coins were encapsulated with all-capital labels.

The change makes labels more readable for larger graphics.

An example of title case is:
U.S. Mint 225th Anniv.
1792-2017 S Silver 1oz Medal
Am. Liberty Four-Medal Set
Early Releases

NGC expects to offer title case descriptions for all 2018 coins, and gradually expand to other years.

For submissions involving coins that will be labeled with title case, NGC will attempt to make all the labels in that submission follow title case, when logistically practical.

All coin grades will continue to be presented in all-capital letters and in bold. For example: PF 70 ULTRA CAMEO
