Long Beach Highlight Reel is Loaded with NGC-certified Coins

NGC-graded coins top Heritage Auctions’ previous world and ancient sales in Long Beach

NGC-certified coins make up more than 3,000 of the world and ancient lots being offered as part of Heritage Auctions’ Long Beach Expo World Coins Signature Auction, being held Sept. 7-12, 2017, in conjunction with the Long Beach Expo in California.

NGC‑certified coins have done very well at Heritage Auctions' Long Beach sales. In fact, nine of the top 10 all-time Heritage Auctions Long Beach world and ancient results were achieved by NGC-graded coins.

Here is a list published by Heritage Auctions on August 15:

  1. Korea: Yung Hi gold 20 Won Year 3 (1909), KM1144, J&V AD3, graded NGC MS 64. Price Realized: $632,500
  2. China: Yunnan. Spring Dollar CD 1910, Kann 177, L&M 428, KM-Y260.1, graded NGC AU 58. Price realized: $546,250
  3. Roman Republic: Marcus Junius Brutus, Assassin of Caesar and Imperator (44-42 BC). AR denarius (3.72 gm). Price realized: $546,250
  4. Korea: Yung Hi gold 5 Won Year 3 (1909), KM1142, J&V AD8, graded NGC MS 64. Price realized: $460,000
  5. Great Britain: Charles I Gold Triple Unite 1643, Oxford Mint, Fr-258, S-2725A, graded NGC MS 63. Price realized: $431,250
  6. Japan: Meiji silver Pattern Yen Year 3 (1870), KM-Pn16, J&V Q1, graded NGC PF 65. Price realized: $322,000
  7. Korea: Yung Hi gold 10 Won Year 3 (1909), KM-A1130, J&V AD6, graded NGC MS 64. Price realized: $299,000
  8. Japan: Meiji silver Pattern Trade Dollar Year 7 (1874), KM-Pn24, J&V R1a, graded NGC PF 65. Price realized: $299,000
  9. Japan: Meiji gold Pattern 10 Yen Year 3 (1870), KM-Pn19, J&V Ma1, graded NGC MS 64. Price realized: $276,000
  10. Japan: Meiji silver 5 Sen Year 25 (1892), type of KM-Y22, JNDA-unlisted, graded NGC MS 62. Price realized: $276,000

Nine of these results were achieved at the Long Beach Signature World & Ancient Coins Auction in September 2011, while one (the Great Britain coin, the fifth on the list) was achieved at the Heritage World Coin Auctions Long Beach Signature Auction in 2005.

With NGC-certified coins comprising more than three-quarters of the nearly 4,000 total lots in the sale, NGC is looking forward to Heritage Auctions’ Long Beach Expo World Coins Signature Auction this month.
